I had a great experience at the youth hostel on Pico island. the ancient monastery building was truly amazing, with large bright rooms and a fantastic view of the ocean and S. Jorge Island from my window. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location had a special charm being inside a historical monastery. the rooms and bathrooms were clean, and the breakfast, while modest, was satisfactory.

Not far from the hostel, there was a beautiful natural waterpool to enjoy. Cons: Nothing at all!
